About Calbrandt
Calbrandt is a global leader in the design and manufacturing of foundation- or rail tie-mounted automated electro/hydraulic/mechanical systems—including Railcar Movers, Railcar Gate Openers, and Railcar Retarders. Our systems are trusted by freight rail customers worldwide to index and spot railcars for loading/unloading, and to automate the opening and closing of railcar hopper gates.
We are seeking skilled professionals to join our team in fabricating, commissioning, and servicing our equipment. If you're passionate about working hands-on with mechanical and electro-hydraulic systems from concept to completion, this is the opportunity for you.
Key Responsibilities
Design heavy industrial equipment using SolidWorks (2D and 3D modeling)
Manage design files and revisions using PDM Vault
Perform mechanical load and force calculations for various components
Coordinate with vendors and sales representatives to obtain quotes and lead times
Required Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
Experience using SolidWorks and PDM
Experience using AutoCAD
Preferred Qualifications
Strong knowledge of SolidWorks design methods for parts, subassemblies, assemblies, and BOMs
Understanding of hydraulic power systems and control schemes is a plus
Familiarity with common machine shop practices for part design
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a high attention to detail
Additional Requirements
Willingness to travel within the U.S., Canada, and internationally (minimal travel required)
Must be eligible for a passport
Must pass a drug screening and background check
