RAILCAR RETARDERS
The purpose of Railcar Retarders is to hold cars into position for loading or unloading product.
Calbrandt manufactures three types of Railcar Retarders:
BAR RETARDERS
The Bar Retarder is used in applications with no grade but require the car to be stable.
LOW DOG RETARDERS
The Low Dog Retarder is capable of holding up to 60,000 pounds of force and can hold railcars on a downhill grade.

Can hold up to 30,000 pounds per side on loaded cars

Can hold up to 7,500 pounds per side on empty cars.

The Axle retarder is capable of holding up to 60,000 pounds of force and can hold railcars on a downhill grade.
