​The Calbrandt Hopper Hammer is engineered to deliver rapid, consistent unloading of bulk materials from hopper-bottom railcars, including meal, pellets, potash, and sand. It eliminates manual pounding and lifting vibrators into discharge pockets. Available in multiple configurations including skid steer attachments and track mounted systems for tight clearances - it enhances safety, decreases labor, and boosts unloading efficiency at facilities served by rail.
Traditional railcar vibrators rely on oscillating energy to trigger material flow, which often compacts product higher in the hopper and leads to re-bridging. Hopper Hammer delivers targeted impact force - like a controlled sledgehammer strike- to break up compacted material, maintain constant flow, and prevent product from resettling, resulting in faster, more reliable unloading with less operator intervention.
